Taking the photos was never the problem.

The photos end up in a chat group. Then somebody downloads them all again, works out for each one where it was taken and which category it belongs to: damage, replacement, pruning. After that it is all copied by hand into a document. That is the work that costs the half day, and a second task starts it over.
The pattern is the same whether it is trees, road surface or street furniture.

Three steps, and the report writes itself

Works with no signal. What you record in the field is still there in the evening, and syncs by itself the moment there is a connection again.

Capture

Photo, GPS position, bearing, address and category. One screen, one hand, standing in front of the tree.

Same tree next season. The app knows it is the same point, so March and September sit side by side.

Report

One report per task: damage, replacement, pruning. As a PDF, or a link that expires on its own.

The report says what changed

Two dates side by side is still a comparison somebody has to make. This one has already been made: per point it says whether it is new, unchanged or changed, and exactly what moved.

The compass bearing does the work here. Two photos taken more than 25 degrees apart show a different face of the same trunk. The document says so, instead of quietly printing them next to each other.

What the DPO will ask for is already written

Geotagged photos of public space are personal data. That comes with paperwork, and it is ready rather than still to be written.

  • All data in Belgium (Google Cloud, St. Ghislain). It never leaves the EU.
  • Make faces and number plates permanently unrecognisable, on the device.
  • Shared reports expire on their own and can be withdrawn.
  • A change history that cannot be edited: who changed what, and when.
  • This site sets no cookies and measures nothing. Hence no banner.
