Why we built this

PhotoMap Pro started with a problem we watched happen: a day in the field ends in an evening at the kitchen table. Finding photos again, working out where they were taken, sorting them, and pasting them into a document by hand. Recording the thing takes an hour. The report takes longer.

We looked at what already existed first. There are apps that stamp coordinates onto a photograph, and they do that well. What was missing is an app that understands you will come back to the same point next season, and that the difference between those two visits is the actual work.

So we built it ourselves, intending to use it ourselves. That is also why the report is the centre of the product rather than an export button bolted on afterwards: the report is what the customer pays for, and it is where the evening goes.

There are two of us. There is no company yet, no investor and no customer list. What there is: working software, paperwork that holds up, and the time to look after the first customers properly. That last one changes as soon as there are more of them, so coming in early is the advantage right now.
